Big River Trail System is part of a cross-country trail utilizing the levee system from the Mississippi headwaters to the Gulf of Mexico. When complete, it will comprise 1,607 miles of levee on the Lower Mississippi alone.

Starting from a spectacular trailhead at Big River Crossing, the Big River Trail System comprises more than +110 miles of riverside trails atop the Mississippi’s levee system and includes access to:
(future access) Crowley’s Ridge Gravel Trail
Delta Heritage Trail
Ducks Unlimited Park
Horseshoe Lake
St. Francis National Forest

With entry points throughout the trail, hikers and bikers can travel from Marion, Arkansas to Memphis, Tennessee to Helena-West Helena, Arkansas, and anywhere in between, enjoying natural, open access to the Mississippi Delta environment.

The Big River Trail System is part of the 501c3 Big River Park Conservancy, a collection of efforts to activate and celebrate the Mississippi River and its surrounding landscape. Together with Ducks Unlimited Park and Big River Crossing, these projects create a new experience with the river that fosters a deeper appreciation of its significance and grandeur.

We thank the St. Francis Levee district and its board of directors for their contributions and support for this important trail expansion project.

Your contributions will help support the improvements and expansion of the Big River Trail system.
